Sculptor and ceramist Lucien De Gheus (1927-2013) lived and worked for more than 50 years, together with his wife Suzanne, in his house – atelier at the outskirts of Poperinge.
Once the copper frontdoor closed behind his back, the visitor enters the artist’s world of the 60. Every space, wall, window or piece of furniture exudes the spirit of its inhabitants, because every detail was designed by De Gheus and shows his creative diversity.
By will, the residence is now an “open” house in which visitors can roam about the living areas, the atelier and the garden, where his oeuvre is shown and preserved in its original context.
